Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about therapy, scheduling, and our practice.

What happens during the discovery call?

The discovery call is a short, structured conversation to clarify your goals, discuss availability, and ensure alignment. It is not a therapy session, but an opportunity to ask questions and determine whether our practice is the right fit for your needs.

If appropriate, you will then be connected with your therapist to schedule an initial session.

How do I begin therapy with your practice?

The first step is scheduling a complimentary discovery call. This brief phone consultation allows us to understand what you’re looking for, answer your questions, and determine which clinician may be the best fit.

You can schedule directly using our online calendar or submit a contact form, and Lauren will respond personally to guide next steps.

Getting Started

What types of therapy do you offer?

Our practice provides specialized therapy for:

  • Perinatal mental health (pregnancy, postpartum, fertility, birth trauma)
  • OCD and anxiety disorders
  • Couples and family therapy
  • Child and adolescent therapy (ages 7+)
  • Grief, aging, and life transitions

Each clinician maintains focused areas of expertise to ensure specialized care.

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes. All sessions are currently offered via secure telehealth to clients located in New Jersey, Florida and New York. Virtual therapy allows for flexible, accessible care while maintaining confidentiality and clinical effectiveness.

Do you offer group therapy?

Select clinicians offer structured group therapy programs. Current offerings may include empowerment groups for girls and adolescents, mindfulness-based groups, and other specialty programs. Availability varies by season.

Services & Specialties

How is your practice different from other therapy offices?

We are a boutique, specialty-driven group practice. Rather than offering generalized counseling, each clinician maintains defined areas of focus. This allows for intentional client matching and clinically grounded care.

As Founder and Clinical Director, Lauren personally connects with new clients to support thoughtful placement within the practice.

Are your therapists licensed?

Our clinicians include fully licensed therapists as well as pre-licensed clinicians practicing under structured clinical supervision as they work toward independent licensure. Supervision ensures ethical practice and high-quality care.

If you have questions about a specific clinician’s credentials, we are happy to provide additional information.

About the Practice

Do you accept insurance?

We have clinicians that are in-network with Medicare and Aetna.

If you are out-of-network, we can provide documentation for potential reimbursement. We encourage clients to verify their out-of-network mental health benefits directly with their insurance provider.

What are your fees?

Fees vary by clinician and service type. During your discovery call, we will review rates and answer any financial questions to ensure clarity before scheduling.

How do I know if therapy is a good fit?

You do not need to be in crisis to begin therapy. Many clients seek support during transitional periods — pregnancy, postpartum, relationship shifts, parenting stress, grief, or evolving identity.

If you are experiencing persistent anxiety, intrusive thoughts, relationship strain, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty adjusting to change, therapy may offer structured support and tools for relief.

Is Therapy Right for Me?

How soon can I be seen?

Availability varies by clinician. We aim to schedule new clients as promptly as possible and will review current openings during your discovery call.
